The purpose of this project is to show the history of Ragence Lam’s business life in the Hong Kong fashion industry. It about how he begin his career and the future . So in the beginning, the designer himself, with two helpers including me reorganizing all the pictures to select. At first, my duty is rescanning old negative films and other photos related to his brands. Moreover, We started to discuss the content, the layout direction, arrange the chapters to wholly book. The designer brains out his ideas, my goal is my achieved is using my skill to achieve the graphics and images. All the photography is retouched. For the example above photos that the model wearing Cheongsam on the Right page, it was Black and White. Also, we have to redesign like space, colours, and scale of the photos. Besides the graphic design part, Designer and I focus on layout editing such as fonts scale style, and unity.
The challenging parts is self training. In the progress, Only me and Ragence Lam which is designer to discuss these images direction possibility that we point out the issues, I have to solve it by myself with no guideline. Also there are no deadline which gives us a lot of ways to experiment to create graphic pictures. And mostly, I was self-taught graphic design skills that work on this project.
One of the section, sharing his fashion design career direction started interested in dolls, we introduced his fashion dolls. But we don’t want just sharing dolls portraits, so we retouched all portraits make it more interesting through Photoshop software,it was really likes a real fashion photoshootings in nowdays.We tried different styles mood. At first, we picked up some portraits that designer wanted to present it. that we experimented colours, poses and some effects.
