Advance Denimc 2017 Denimc Design Competition

During my studies in menswear design, I actively participated in various competitions to broaden my creative vision and enhance my technical skills. In my second year, I took part in the Advance Denim 2017 Design Competition, where I was honored to win the Second Runner-Up prize. This competition challenged participants to choose from four distinctive themes, and I selected a futuristic concept, blending it with denim fabric to craft innovative menswear designs. The experience was transformative. I deepened my understanding of denim by applying the theoretical knowledge I gained in school to real-world practice. As part of the process, I developed a cohesive presentation that included a color board, theme board, and sketch board to communicate my concept clearly. My research involved exploring futuristic patterns, graphics, and materials, which inspired me to experiment with unique sewing techniques and incorporate unconventional materials into denim. This hands-on approach allowed me to create original and distinctive menswear pieces, pushing the boundaries of traditional denim design.
